CTL’s 6-member Board of Directors is largely drawn from development practitioners and academicians each with a unique set of skills. They are as follows:
Kristin Naituli – Board Chairperson
Kristin is one of CTL’s founding directors and a former lecturer at Egerton University’s Department of Agribusiness. Kristin holds a Master’s degree in Business Management and is pursuing her Doctor of Business Leadership in UNISA. She has over 10 years of experience in the delivery of University courses. Besides serving as the chair to the board, she serves CTL in the capacity of a leadership development researcher and author, development of training designs, and facilitation of leadership and management training.
Prof. Gitile Joseph – Board Treasurer
Prof. Gitile is a founding director and the treasurer to the CTL Board. Formerly a Commissioner at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), Prof. Gitile currently serves as the Deputy Principal, Finance and Administration at the Multi-Media University. Prof. Naituli also heads UNEP’s project, Mainstreaming Environment and Sustainability in African Universities (MESA). Besides serving in the CTL Board, Prof. Gitile brings in diverse skills to CTL in organizational development, gender mainstreaming and women empowerment. He has a strong background in business management and very instrumental in fundraising and networking. Prof. Naituli chairs the finance and procurement sub-committee of the Board.
Sylvester Abara – Board Member
Sylvester joined the CTL board in 2011 as a board member. Sylvester brings in vast experience in youth program design and monitoring and evaluation processes. He also facilitates conflict management and resolution training. He also brings into the CTL Board strong project management skills. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Masters Degree in Project Management from University of Nairobi.
Bancy W. Kubutha – Board Secretary
Bancy is one of CTL’s founding directors and serves as the secretary to the Board. She is an ex-officio member of the board and serves as CTL’s Executive Director overseeing its day to day operations. She has over 8 years’ experience in NGO management and program design. She is an experienced training designer and facilitator of leadership and governance programs. She brings in a set of diverse skills to CTL including management of the human resources, community development, project management, and management of NGOs. Bancy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (HR) degree and a Diploma in Business Management.
Collins Odhiambo – Board Member
Collins joined the CTL’s board in 2018. He brings to CTL vast experience in youth programming and design having worked with the Action Aid’s Training4Change Platform for more than 3 years. He also brings strong networking, advocacy, and fundraising skills. Collins holds a Masters Degree in Project Management and currently works with ActionAid.
Faith Milka Muniale – Board Member
Faith joined the CTL board in 2018. She has more than 5 years of working with women, particularly in rural areas. She brings to the board experience and skills in women programming, gender mainstreaming, and women’s rights. Faith has previously worked for a regional Environmental and Research NGO, she holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management Science from Moi University and is currently pursuing a PhD.
